See Berlin through the eyes of a Berliner

Hi, I’m Martin, a passionate Berlin tour guide offering walking tours in English and German, backed by years of experience and local insight. I look forward to showing you my Berlin.

  • Discover Berlin’s most iconic landmarks and hidden corners on a walking tour led by someone who’s spent years exploring—and explaining—this extraordinary city. With a background in historical research and guiding, I offer more than just dates and names: I share the stories, context, and moments that bring Berlin to life.

From the Brandenburg Gate to Checkpoint Charlie, the Berlin Wall, the Reichstag, and more—you’ll get a complete picture of the city’s layered past and vibrant present

  • Step back into the tense decades of division on a walking tour of Berlin’s Cold War landmarks. Led by a long-time guide with deep experience in Berlin’s history and memory culture, this tour offers more than just the facts—you'll gain a real sense of what life was like on both sides of the Wall.

We’ll visit key Cold War sites like the Berlin Wall Memorial, the former death strip, Stasi locations, and Checkpoint Charlie—while uncovering the hidden stories, political tensions, and human experiences that shaped the city during one of the world’s most dramatic stand-offs.

  • Uncover the rise and fall of Hitler’s regime on a walking tour through the center of Berlin, where so much of the Third Reich’s history was made—and unmade. As someone who has spent years researching and guiding at some of Berlin’s most significant historical sites, I offer more than just surface-level facts. You'll get a thoughtful, well-informed look at how the Nazi dictatorship shaped the city and the world.

  • Berlin is too big, too complex, and too fascinating for a one-size-fits-all tour. That’s why I offer fully customized, private tours designed around your interests—whether it’s Cold War history, street art, Jewish heritage, architecture, Prussian palaces, or a little bit of everything.

With years of experience guiding and researching Berlin's many layers, I’ll help shape a tour that’s meaningful, flexible, and uniquely yours. We go at your pace, follow your curiosity, and dive deep into the parts of the city that matter most to you.

  • Explore the Sachsenhausen Memorial on a powerful tour led by someone who knows the site inside and out. Having worked at the memorial for many years, I bring a deep understanding of its history and the stories behind it—details you won’t find in guidebooks.

  • Leave the city behind and spend a day exploring the stunning beauty and rich history of Potsdam, just a short ride from Berlin—but truly a world of its own. As your guide, I’ll take you beyond the postcard views to show you the deeper stories of this former royal capital, Cold War hotspot, and UNESCO World Heritage site.

From the grand Sanssouci Palace to the elegant gardens, from Prussian kings to the Potsdam Conference and the Cold War border at Glienicke Bridge—Potsdam is packed with layers of history, art, and architecture waiting to be discovered.

  • Berlin’s story isn’t just told in its streets and monuments—it’s on the plate, in the markets, and at the neighborhood tables. Join me on a carefully curated food tour that goes beyond currywurst and doner kebab (though we’ll enjoy those too!) to explore the flavors that define Berlin’s diverse, ever-evolving identity.

As someone who’s always lived in this city, I’ll guide you through local favorites, hidden gems, and the stories behind each dish—from traditional German fare to international influences that reflect Berlin’s past and present.
